About This Tour

This is one of three suggested half-day routes — each one private and fully customizable. Want to mix stops from different routes or add your own? Just tell us when booking.

The route stays on the green hillsides above Funchal. It starts at Monte, where the tropical gardens and the church sit above the city, then continues to the Madeira Botanical Garden with its terraced displays of plants from around the world.

Crossing to the Garajau headland, the Cristo Rei statue looks out over the ocean with a wide view back along the south coast. The final stop is the Miradouro do Pináculo, a viewpoint framing Funchal bay and the harbour below.

This tour suits garden lovers, travellers who prefer a relaxed pace with minimal walking, and anyone who wants to see the green side of Madeira without leaving the Funchal area.

Itinerary

The stops below follow the usual flow of the day. Order and timing stay flexible: weather, road conditions, closures, safety and your own preferences all shape the final route, and we adjust as we go rather than forcing a fixed schedule.
